How to use Contract Prices to audit vendor's price sheets?

Modified on Mon, Jan 4, 2021 at 10:01 PM

Vendors often share their weekly or monthly price sheets via .csv or Excel. How do you know if they're honoring those prices?

If you've been in the business long enough, you'll find that they don't always honor their own price sheets (or Contract Prices for that matter).

Instructions on how to audit vendor's price sheets

Luckily, we made the process to do so easy:

Step 1: Get a download of the vendor's price sheets via .csv

  • Vendors often email their price sheets, or post them on their online vendor portal
    • US Foods, for example, makes it easy to download their order guide:

Step 2: Convert the price sheet to match the format in the Contract Price template

  • Follow the Step 1 in How to bulk import contract prices? to download the Contract Price template

  • Next, paste in the content from the vendor's Price Sheet into the Contract Price template
  • Adjust the `Start Date` and `End Date` in the template to match the dates in which the vendor's Price Sheet is valid

  • Save as .csv

Step 3: Submit

  • Simply drag and drop your file into the Contract Price importer, and Plate IQ will do the rest!
